In 1995 designer Akira Minagawa created the fashion brand ‘minä’ (renamed ‘minä perhonen’ in 200 ). With its designs inspired by observations of society and poetic sentiments for the natural world, minä perhonen creates a wide variety of original textile designs, including woven fabrics, prints, and embroidery. In 2006 minä perhonen was awarded the grand prize at the ‘Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix ‘.
